1961 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series SE
|
For auction is an early 1961 Mercedes 220 SE Coupe. Originally 040 Black exterior with 1106 Ivory interior. This would be a great car to drive and enjoy while restoring it.
Car runs and drives well. Desirable 4 speed floor shifter works well. Does not overheat. New oil change and filter. Brakes are recent and like new front and back. Recent rubber seals on windshield and rear window. New voltage regulator.
All lights, horn, and heater work. Dash and interior lights work and are very bright. Comes with its original Becker Europa Highway Hi-Fi, but it does not turn on. The radio and clock might be disconnected. The turn signals need a new blinker can. Will need a new speedometer cable, but the car hasn't been driven more than 100 miles since it went out a couple months ago. The air filter is not currently installed but is included with the car. It will need the flex tube for installation.
The ivory leather seats will need to be reupholstered. The headliner came un-tucked by the rear window when they re-did the rubber seal.
The exterior color was originally black. Has an older re-paint in yellow that shows signs of age but looks alright from a distance. All glass looks clean and clear. Brightwork inside and out is in good condition. The bumpers have some pitting.
Original 13" wheels with beauty rims. Tires are good and have a lot of tread left.
Has some paint bubbling on the bottom edge of the driver's side. Underside of the car is clean, except for two holes a bit bigger than dimes on the driver's footwell, and some openings in the driver's side trunk well, as pictured.
This car belonged to a friend of the family but is now in my name. Currently registered with a clean title and pink slip in hand.
If you have zero feedback, please contact me before bidding so I know you are serious. Please feel free to ask any questions and we will answer to the best of our ability. We welcome any inspections.
